Tiny Plants, Big Water, Symbiosis in Nature

Ongoing

Artist Statement

This project explores the symbiotic relationship between tiny plants and large bodies of water, two seemingly different forms of life that exist in constant, mutual exchange. The dependency of these organisms and the delicate balance that often goes unnoticed is highlighted through intimate scenes found in nature. By focusing on these quiet intersections, the work reveals how two very different organisms, each distinct in form and function, depend upon one another in an intricate, interdependent balance.

The collection employs a cool color palette of blues and greens to evoke a sense of calm and continuity, creating a visual unity that mirrors the harmony and serenity of these natural relationships. Through form-based compositions, the images are designed to immerse the viewer in a visual and sensory experience that feels as significant as the subject itself. Viewers are invited to engage not only with what is seen, but to feel the quiet dialogue between plant and water.

At its heart, this body of work is both representational and reflective, inviting viewers to pause and consider the understated wonders of nature and the subtle, interconnected beauty of the natural world. The intent is to inspire curiosity and contemplation about the delicate, often overlooked connections that sustain life and remind us of our own connection to nature.
