Galactic Totem

While I had seen the silhouettes of Monument Valley from afar, I never had the opportunity to see it up close. I connected with a native guide so I could not only see the beautiful landscape, but hear the stories as well. He took me to places off the beaten path within Monument Valley this spring. He told me stories of the history and funny little ghost stories at night. He took me to this perfect spot where the milky way would align exactly as I hoped. We had to wait a little while, but so worth it. This image was captured in one shot.
